So many cloth diapers - so many choices. Velcro or snap? AIO or pocket diaper? Fitted or Prefold? I love them all, at different times, for different reasons. Velcro on a cloth diaper is so easy - just like a disposable. Snaps are great for the older baby or toddler (my toddler has difficulty undoing snaps on her cloth diaper, which is so nice - no surprises left around the house). All In One's are great for the diaper bag or for the caregiver. Pocket cloth diapers are so versatile - one insert or two? Hemp or microfiber? And the liner is a good barrier between your baby's bottom and any wetness. Prefolds are my favorite when I'm feeling lazy or just hanging around the house. That prefold can be changed in the blink of an eye. And fitteds? On hot days, or if my girl has a bit of diaper rash - I use a fitted with no cover to keep her cool and to let air flow to her tender little bottom.
So, where do you want to start? Are you a novice? Try an All-In-One (Monkey Doodlez has some great colors) or a Pocket Diaper (make sure you get an insert). Have a newborn? You're going to need a large stash of cloth diapers so I'd try some fitteds (love, love, love the Thirsties) or prefolds with covers with a few pockets or AIO's for traveling or for dad's. For toddlers, I love the side snapping design on the Knickernappies. And then, there are the one-size cloth diapers - good for babies through toddlers. And do you get a print or solid color - oh, do the cloth diaper choices ever end?
